Happy Friday friends! Today brings you another one of my quilt block tutorials! This time around we're looking at how to make the Ohio Star Block! For ages I've been intimidated of this block because of the funny-looking triangle points! But after exploring the construction a little bit more, I've learnt that making Quarter Squares Triangles (QSTs) are not that scary or hard to make at all!! Let me know what you think about this block and if you're keen on making it! I would love to see your efforts! (All links are below!) PS. My eight year old nephew makes a very small appearance in this video! Blink and you'll miss it!! Enjoy! ^_^ Measurement & Cutting Info: From the purple fabric cut: x4: 5" squares (for the corners of the block) x2: 6" squares (for the QSTs) From the print fabric ...

I’m back from quilt camp and cannot believe how much I got done! I was able to finish this Ohio Star Quilt. The fabrics are a 6-inch bundle from Craftsy.com. The line of fabric is called Boundless, and the color way is called Crayon Box. http://quiltshownews.com When these arrived, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them. Then I knew I was going to do Ohio Star blocks. Once I had a few of them, I could see, with the luscious colors, all this quilt needed was a little bit of black fabric for the border to make these colors really pop!
Ohio Star Ball 1997 International Latin Final Group Dance 6 Finalists - Gocha and Shorena Chertkoev, Bill Sparks & Kimberly Mitchell, Gary & Diana McDonald, Jean-Marc Genereux & France Mousseau, Peta Siddall & Aleksandra, Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin,
I regretfully did not catch the name of this couple when they performed Friday night at the Ohio Star Ball DanceSport Championships but I absolutely loved this dance and had to share it! Oh and apologies for the vertical video, I didn't initially think this would go on YouTube.
Download the original movie from http://www.astronomy.ohio-state.edu/~pogge/Ast161/Movies/ This movie shows the sky towards the North, with the pole star Polaris labeled from 8:03pm until 4:03am on the night of 1999 September 28/29 as seen from Columbus, Ohio. Columbus is located at 40 degrees North latitude, so Polaris appears at an altitude of 40 degress above the North horizon. All stars closer to Polaris than 40 degrees will neither rise nor set, hence they are "circumpolar" stars. Stars farther from the pole than 40 degrees are seen to rise and set as the movie progresses. Movie by Rick Pogge, composed using Starry Night Pro (v3.0)
